Southeaster was founded in January 2000 by Justin Hall, Guy Langston and Andrew Martin
who, together with project manager Adéle Théron, designed and programmed the first version
of Silverfish.
Justin Hall B.BusSci (IS hons) UCT
Justin is Southeaster's head project manager. An expert analyst and programmer
(Delphi 1 - 5, JavaScript and HTML), he has extensive hands-on experience and
in-depth technical knowledge of the software. Strong interpersonal and business
management skills have helped him see the company through a smooth period of
rapid growth, and the successful raising of venture capital.
Guy Langston B.BusSci (IS hons) UCT
As Southeaster's technical director and head of the Silverfish development project,
Guy is the lead web engine programmer (C/C++). He has considerable experience in
Software Modelling/Design/Analysis, C, C/C++, Delphi, SQL, HTML, Unix
(Linux and FreeBSD,) and Assembler, as well as extensive industry experience in
software development, graphic programming and IS consulting.
Andrew Martin B.BusSci (IS hons) UCT
Andrew's primary responsibilities include company finances, accounting, software
testing and customer support. Something of an upstart, he began programming at the age of
seven, and from an early age demonstrated an impressive entrepreneurial knack.
His experience includes launching a successful hardware retail business at 15, and
acting as part-time IS Manager for Martin & East Civil Engineering. He also has
extensive programming and web design experience.
